Community-Led Change

Transforming lives with collective action & compassionate care.

What we do

Our Approach

LEAD Hancock County builds a better response to chronic crime and disorder by developing a non-punitive pathway to long-term, community-based care for people whose unlawful or problematic conduct stems from mental illness, substance use, or chronic poverty.

The LEAD program has had an increasingly positive impact on the Findlay community. The program has helped to limit the number of law enforcement interactions involving many individuals who previously got into frequent legal trouble due to homelessness, alcohol or drug addiction, or mental health issues. The LEAD team communicates and works well with the Findlay Police Department, making it much easier for officers to connect these individuals with local and regional resources.
